Monday 11th June

Me and my group was rehearsing with jackie and jackie was giving us advice and telling us what we did wrong . We had to cut out our first scene because it didn't really make sense.

How we improved 

The cafe scene we change it a little bit because it was long and we didn't know where scene was going and plus we kept on changing words , so we had to stick to our words and try not to change it.

And we also improve the bedroom scene - at first it didn't feel right but jackie and my group ideas , which made the scene look more interesting . 

Overall me and my group are doing well just need to put more energy especially me because I don't really put a lot of effect. 

Last day for rehearsal

Thursday 05
In our last rehearsal we through our scenes and also going through some bits that doesn't look right with the lights and Jackie was giving us feedbacks on what we should do .
Jackie told me that i was doing good but i need to reacted more in my ouija board scene .
Before we performed we did voice warm up , in the beginning of the course we wasnt really loud but when we doing our warm up , we can see the difference.
Our ensemble really improve for explain all of us was focus and we were helping each other out and we also giving eye contact to each other .
Our discipline also improve because all of us was in a still image whenever someone was doing their scenes and our timing was good too.
Physicality really improve because we had a lot of energy in our rehearsal and the real performance.

What i  achieved 
i started to show more emotions and i build more confidence and i have gone loud than before , before i was afraid to speak loud
what i want to achieve 
i want to build more confidence because whenever i perform by myself  at start i do good then i start to forget my lines which affect my acting.

Thursday 14th
Me and my group made a plan that we should go over the scene that we feel like its not really working which was the ouija board scene. 
we felt like the scene was going nowhere, so we decided to get help from Jackie, Jackie gave us some ideas then we thought maybe should get some one to acted out as the ghost , so we got Jackie daughter to acted out as Keisha and we gave her a little script  that says one and there is such thing as ghost.... im over here.  This is a good idea because it has more effect on the audience, because they won't be expecting it and therefore they will feel surprise and shock.
and we also planned to make the cafe scene more clear because we wasn't giving each other  a chance to speak but overall scene scene was going together.

Thursday 04
Me and my group had to come in at 11:15 because we had to go over our scene , especially the scene when have to contact the ghost (Keisha)  .
When we rehearsed it over and over again , we actually felt like our scenes was real

• First scene was the cafe scene when i first saw the ghost , i start to go crazy while Ranique character tries to stop me.
• The second scene is the nightmare scene , when my character has a nightmare about twin sister (Keisha)

• The last scene is when my character and her sister do the Ouija board and every things goes out of hand.

Bedroom

we got feedbacks from people who watched our play and they said the play really good and they also said the Ouija board scene was actually scary and also said they enjoyed every scene. I feel like we improve since we started performing art , we improved by being a team and also giving each other support and our voice has gone louder.

The whole week we be rehearsing and going through our scene with our group and rehearsing with music and getting feedback from Jackie.

I think for the past few week my group doing good , at first we didn't know where our scene was going but when descuss it together and with jackie , the scene went together but we need to put energy and stop changing our lines.

I think all of us improve since we started , for example I build more confidence and my voice became louder when I perform.

Me and my group choice three TV shows that relates to our character and we had to do a presentation  on why we choose it and also had to discuss our ideas on what we gonna do in our play and how people real life relates to our characters we chose Benefits street , haunted house and Bad girl club.                 
Reason why we chose haunted house is because there a story behind it and  my character  is a type person who  talks to herself and she gets nightmare and 
she has imaginary friend which is her twin sister (Keisha) but the only thing she want is to be normal .Me and my  group wanted our scene to be different to other group
For  research went on YouTube and we watch couple of video based on our character and while we was watching it we was getting ideas from it and try  put it together.


The reason why we chose these wideo because it relates to our characters and also has a backstory on why the characters became who they are . 

The first video is relates to  my character because she crazy and she sees ghost which her twin sister .

The second video it relates to Rinque and Sharie character because both of them always  get into trouble with someone and they don't like getting disrespected. 

The third video it relates to all us because all us live in the same area .

Tuesday 21

Today lesson we had to a warm up by getting into our characters for example we had walk and talk like our character that we chose then we had to close our eyes and pretend that our character in front of us and we had to describe our characters.

we had to do our first scene in 15 minutes in our groups then show it to other but first we had to talk about what we gonna do and what scene should go first . The first scene we did was the  interview, i had to pretend that i was talking to my twin sister (Kiesha) and tried to get both of my sister attention but they are busy talking to the camera man but thing goes out of hand . 

Thursday 23

In the morning Jackie told us to rehearse with our groups and she also send some people to research some monologue . 

In the afternoon Jackie got a camera and told us that we had to perform our play so she can send it to the examiner she gave Ivon the camera so he can practice recording and also what to do in our performance. My  group was first to perform , i was kinder nervous because the play wasn't finished yet but when started performing i felt that doing good because the energy we had. I think me and my group are doing really well and our getting together. One moment that was good was when I turned crazy in the cafe scene and Renique was trying to control me by putting me down on the floor. This was good because it showed that she was the person that could control me and it was funny. What I learnt from this rehearsal was that I am able to let go and that I have built more confidence since the start of the course. I plan to show people that I can do even more in the next rehearsal. In the bedroom scene I plan to scream really loudly.

The reason why she become crazy is because of her twin sister (keisha) , since the day she died only thing she see is her.

Statement of purpose

To devise and perform an ensemble piece , based on reality t.v ,we are  looking at story characters.

This device project : Monday I had to take someone I knew in real life chose and think of a character who i really like to play  and think of a story for that character and also , be that character ( hot sit) and also a piece that character would say on the (video diary)
what i want to get out of this project is to get more emotions out and connect more to my character. 
All us had to discuss what want to do in our play and also discuss how character is connected to each other and we also watched couple of videos to get ideas.
Each of us had to introduce our self in our characters , tell about our lives and what we wanna become  and our ages. 

Dierdra Autobiography

Deirdre has a old brother called Vicente who gets himself into a lot of trouble by raping a girl who has special needs. 

The only thing  Deirdra wants is to stays out of danger in her flat high above the streets of London , however Vincent brings trouble and she has no choice but she get Calderazzos

The difference between me and Deirdra is that I'm not violent person and i don't have attitude unless someone tries to be rude to me and also have different background and we are not the same age . The two things me and my character (Deirdra) have common is that  we stay out of trouble and we both been through alot  .

Jackie put us into partners or into groups of three and gave us a dialogues. She put me and Timothy in partners and told us that we doing a play called Flesh wound then she send to get the book from the library and starting and so we know what our character likes.
Then we had to go photo copy our scripted then start reading it to each other and analyse the words and highlighting the words that we don't know. 
Before started doing our play , we had to research our play by going on You tube and watching a clip of the play and write down what we think our characters . 

What I need to improve

For the past few weeks me and Timothy been trying to improve our scene and also reading over our lines. I kinder find this play hard because the way I have to shout at Timothy and get angry at him which is hard because I'm a type of who doesn't  really get angry. 
And the play is really different to the play i did before  and also  need to project my voice

Wednesday 11th
Today lesson we have to perform in front of each other and gave back feed backs and also give advice on what they should do and what they should improve. Jackie was telling to show more emotions and make they the play bigger and also projected our voice . 
I think all us are improving , since we started we are getting more confidence and we are showing our emotions more . 
i think i need to show more emotions, when im doing the play and i need to be much louder and also  i need to connected with my character and think about what she wants

Deirdra

Deirdra 

The character i'm playing is type of person who religious and she doesn't want any trouble from anyone , however  but her older brother Vincent puts himself in a bad situation which makes Deirdra worry that someone gonna kill Vincent. 

Deirdra is a strong person and who doesn't like people disrespecting her. 

she live in  'shaddy' flat, she also a violent person who will  ready to pull a knife on any visitor but distancing herself from the gangland.

Deirdra has trust issue , she doesn't trust anyone expect for her older brother Vincent  and her Mum .

Every tuesday we been work on our voice ,the reason why we are working on our voice is to make our voice loud and clear , so when we perform the audience can hear us properly .

We mainly focusing our diaphragm which helps us breathe while we shouting or saying our lines. we had to do warm up which we had to breathe out 'sh', 's' and 'f' and we also had to 
Count to 5,10,15. Our another warmer up we had to do was Humming and we had to feel the vibration on lips +nose .
What need to improve is on my breathing when I do the warm up. What learnt about my voice is that it's start go get loud because of the warm up we doing.
When you breathe in, or inhale, your diaphragm contracts (tightens) and moves downward. This increases the space in your chest cavity, into which your lungs expand and its a sheet of muscle that is based on your lung and supports your breathe and your voice .

Jackie chose me and Timothy to do a play called Flesh Wound which is about a dark comedy, is set in a tower block flat among the small time criminal gangs of North London. This play about a guy called Joseph (Vincent dad) who   has been missing presumed dead, when he comes to his step daughter Deirdra's  flat to find out where his son Vincent  is hiding from a powerful gangland family called the Caderazzos because he rape some girl called Rosie who has "special needs" girl who given birth and give named Vincent as the Father of her baby .
